northcoast roast is a speciality coffee roaster on the causeway coast with a great product and almost no way to sell it. they came to us with strong beans, a loyal cafe following and a website that could not take an order. the brief was simple to say and hard to do: turn a local favourite into a brand people across the uk would buy from online.
the problem
the old setup leaked customers at every step. the logo changed depending on where you saw it, the packaging did not look premium enough to justify the price, and the website was a slow template that buried the shop two clicks deep. people who loved the coffee in the cafe had no easy way to buy a bag for home, and search engines had nothing clear to rank.
the approach
we treated this as one connected job, not a logo here and a website there. first we rebuilt the brand identity: a confident wordmark, a warm cream and near-black palette, and packaging that finally looked as good as the coffee tasted. then we designed and built a fast, custom online store in code, with the shop front and centre and a checkout that takes three taps.
- a flexible visual system for three roast levels and seasonal releases
- photography direction that sells the ritual, not just the bag
- a product structure built for search and for ai answers about local coffee
the result
the new store launched fast and stayed fast, passing google's core web vitals on mobile where the old site failed. online orders became a real revenue line within the first month, and the brand now reads as the premium choice on a shelf full of supermarket bags. we keep the seo and aeo work running so northcoast roast keeps showing up when people search, and when they ask an ai where to buy good coffee in northern ireland.
