The brief
Phat Events needed a website that makes people hungry to book. Bold from the first scroll. Quick to load. Easy to run themselves. The site had to show off past events, capture enquiries and build trust, all without a developer on speed dial. This was a problem of conversion and credibility, not just a new design. That is the kind of work we do across every custom website and branding project.

What we built
Custom design that sells the food
No templates. Every section was designed from scratch to match the brand we created: bold, fun and confident, but still clean. The hero hits you first. Clear calls to action push people straight to the enquiry form and the gallery. No filler, no dead space.
Easy to manage on WordPress
We built the site on WordPress so the team can update event galleries, menus and listings in minutes. We set up flexible custom fields, so adding new work is simple, not a chore. Giving clients real control over their own content is one of the biggest reasons we build on a proper content management system.
Built for mobile and speed
People research catering on their phones, often late at night, so the site was designed mobile first. We kept the code clean and the load times fast, because slow pages lose people before they ever convert. Fast, smooth and built to perform on the device that matters most.
Set up to capture leads and rank
We connected the Instagram feed and a Mailchimp sign up, so the site shows fresh work and captures leads at the same time. We also wrote keyword rich copy and structured the site to help Phat Events show up in their target cities. That groundwork sets up their SEO perfectly to grow.
The thinking
Catering sells on trust and appetite. If the site did not make the food look incredible from the first second, it had already failed. So a few decisions drove the whole build.
Strong visuals over static blocks. Big imagery, bold transitions and clear colour keep things alive and make the food the star. Hierarchy that sells, with the gallery and the enquiry form doing the heavy lifting. A backend so simple the team never has to think about it. And a brand first layout, bold but polished.
The result is a site that thinks like a caterer and works like a sales tool.
The result
Page views doubled in the first three months after launch.
People also stay longer, browsing the galleries and the sign up forms instead of bouncing. Phat Events now have a site they are proud to push on socials, and it works as hard as they do behind the scenes.
- PageSpeed mobile score went from 54 to 100.
- Organic traffic rose 87% in 3 months.
