Bespoke website for Nutt Travel, a 35-year travel brand
Nutt Travel has helped customers travel across the UK, Ireland and Europe for more than 35 years. We rebuilt their website from scratch, modernising the brand without losing the heritage that built it.
The reputation was outstanding. Great service, competitive ferry pricing, decades of loyal customers. The old website did not show any of that. It was hard to manage, poor on mobile and too rigid to promote the packages, ferry routes and motorsport events that drive the business. So Nutt Travel came to us for a site that respects the history and is built for the future.
The brief
Nutt Travel needed a website that matches the scale of the company. Easy to browse. Strong on mobile. Flexible enough to promote ferry crossings, city breaks, motorsport trips and seasonal offers, all in one place. It also had to be built for modern search, so customers could actually find it. And the team needed to run it without a developer on call. This was a problem of structure and growth, not just a redesign. That is the kind of work we do across every custom website.
What we built
A clear structure customers can navigate
No templates. We designed a completely bespoke site around Nutt Travel's customers, with a clear information hierarchy. Browsing ferry routes, discovering travel packages, exploring motorsport events and submitting a booking enquiry all became simple. Good information architecture is what turns a confusing site into one people actually use.
Pages built for every kind of trip
We built bespoke package pages for city breaks and travel offers, plus dedicated motorsport event pages with embedded booking forms. Every call to action was sharpened, and the enquiry and quotation journeys were simplified, so more visitors turn into bookings.
Easy to manage on WordPress
We built the site on WordPress using Advanced Custom Fields, so the team can publish offers, events and news without touching code or relying on a developer. Giving clients real control over their own content is one of the biggest reasons we build on a proper content management system. The result cut the day-to-day complexity of running the site.
Built for search and speed
We gave the site an SEO-focused page structure and clean metadata, plus news and blog functionality for ongoing marketing. We kept it fast and fully responsive across desktop, tablet and mobile, because slow pages lose people before they ever book. That groundwork ties straight into our ongoing SEO work.
The thinking
The hard part of a heritage rebrand is respect. Thirty-five years of reputation is an asset, not baggage. So the goal was never to erase the old Nutt Travel, it was to give it a platform worthy of the name. Modern where it counts, familiar where it matters.
That meant clarity over clutter, a structure built for how customers actually shop for travel, and a backend simple enough that the team owns it completely. A modern digital platform that is easier to use for customers and staff alike.
The outcome
Nutt Travel now has a modern website that reflects the professionalism of the brand and stays easy for staff to update.
Customers can quickly find what they need, whether they are booking a ferry crossing, planning a city break or travelling to one of Europe's biggest motorsport events. Internally, the new system has reduced the complexity of updates, so the team publishes offers, events and news on their own. Most importantly, the site is a solid platform for future growth.
