Reset Recovery: a bold brand identity for a sports massage business
The problem
Reset Recovery is a modern sports massage and recovery business based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The founder had the skills and the service. What was missing was a brand.
Sports massage can feel intimidating. Most local competitors look clinical, dated or generic. Reset Recovery needed an identity that felt professional and welcoming at the same time. One that would attract gym goers and athletes without putting off desk workers who just want to move without pain.
That is a positioning problem, not a logo problem. So we started with strategy, not sketches.
The strategy
We defined the brand around one simple idea: recovery should feel accessible to everyone. Whether you compete on the pitch or sit at a desk all day, the treatment and the welcome should be the same.
That idea shaped everything. The mission, the values, the tone of voice and the design direction all point back to it. We mapped the competitor identities in the local market to make sure Reset Recovery would stand apart, not blend in. This is the same strategy first approach we bring to every project at https://www.lowedesign.io/services/branding.
The logo
The logo mark is built from two interlocking R forms held inside a single balanced shape. Reset and recovery working as one complete package, not two separate ideas.
The enclosed form creates structure and reliability. It feels strong without being intimidating, which is exactly the balance the brand needed. We paired it with a customised wordmark, adjusted letter by letter so symbol and type read as one identity.
We built three lockups for real world use. A horizontal lockup for digital and signage, a stacked lockup for tighter spaces, and a standalone logomark for social media, apparel and small scale applications.
The colour
The palette pairs a vivid green with a deep, grounded dark green. The bright green brings movement, freshness and energy. The dark tone adds strength, contrast and professionalism.
That contrast matters commercially, not just visually. Research on colour psychology shows that distinctive, consistent colour makes a brand easier to recognise and recall (https://www.helpscout.com/blog/psychology-of-color/). In a local market full of black, white and clinical blue, Reset Recovery is now impossible to mistake for anyone else.
Why branding matters for a recovery business
Sports massage is a trust purchase. People are handing over their bodies, so the brand has to signal expertise before a single word is read. The service itself is backed by evidence, with research showing benefits for flexibility, muscle soreness and recovery (https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7228568/). The brand's job is to make that professionalism visible at a glance.
A strong identity also compounds. It makes every future touchpoint work harder, from social posts to signage to the website. When Reset Recovery is ready for that next step, the foundation is already built. See how we approach that at https://www.lowedesign.io/services/websites.
The result
Reset Recovery launched with a complete identity system: logo, lockups, colour palette, typography and brand guidelines, ready to apply consistently everywhere the brand appears.
